I don't really see why us having the benefit of his voice showing us how that body of words should be rendered disqualifies it.<br />But anyway, it is a semantic argument and we all agree he is a unique thing and, as you say, fully deserves the Nobel gong for Bobness.Brithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00390560583798960760noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2526736757651414061.post-79856621383497467662016-10-14T21:10:03.553+01:002016-10-14T21:10:03.553+01:00Yes, but they don't linger as words in isolati...Yes, but they don't linger as words in isolation - you hear Dylan singing them, Dylan's unique phrasing - that's what makes them great. If we only knew those phrases on the page, if they'd never been sung, they really wouldn't amount to much. Would they? Therefore, a prize that separates-out the two disciplines is rather meaningless. Anyroadup, to these ears he already stands head and shoulders above any 'popular' artist of the last 60 years, and we don't need a reminder of his greatnessmahlermanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14469854614938507153noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2526736757651414061.post-11258988763526046832016-10-14T10:17:38.326+01:002016-10-14T10:17:38.326+01:00Oh yes I think whoops are definitely in order.Oh yes I think whoops are definitely in order.Nigehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13314891387515045404noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2526736757651414061.post-62542074077225168422016-10-13T23:03:32.546+01:002016-10-13T23:03:32.546+01:00Absolutely logical and true Nige ( a perfect disti...Absolutely logical and true Nige ( a perfect distinction made) but the irrational part of one can't help whooping it up.
