The attempt on the long-standing (and then some) steam car land speed
record seems to be running into difficulties. However, we of the retroprogressive tendency are cheering on the team as it races back into the future. When Fred Marriott first broke that record in 1906, his Stanley Steamer was the fastest thing on earth, and remained so for at least 13 years. Who needs petrol?
Should have stuck to Pendine Sands. Guaranteed not to overheat there.
