Birthday

It's Mrs Nige's birthday today – the one on which she joins me on the dip slope of senility. It will be a lockdown birthday, alas, but happily we'll be celebrating with the local family (first time we've seen them in the flesh since this madness began – don't tell the hygiene police).
This date was also the birthday, in 1929, of Audrey Hepburn – yes, that's her in the picture, not Mrs N (the cigarette holder's the giveaway). Givenchy created L'Interdit specially for Audrey Hepburn, and, as it happens, it was for a long time one of Mrs N's favourite fragrances. And then they reformulated it and it was ruined. Audrey would not have been pleased. Nor was Mrs Nige.
