Laughter and Not Dying

Britain's oldest man, Bob Weighton of Alton, Hampshire, died today at the astonishing age of 112. Once, when asked about the secret of long life, he attributed his longevity to 'laughter and not dying'. What a wonderful phrase. A remarkable number of supercentenarians have also mentioned a regular tot of alcohol when asked the same question – I'll drink to that.
