And today...

... the first swifts of the year! Two of them, circling low and fast over my son's garden in Cheam. I glanced out of the window and there they were, as amazing as ever – and early this year, arriving before I've even seen a swallow. Another swift summer has begun.

  1. Yes Nige, they rocked-up here two weeks ago from below the Sahara, and are currently more numerous than swallows. I don't imagine that you or I will ever tire of watching these amazing animals.

  2. We certainly won't, Mm... I saw one or two in Greece a couple of weeks ago – and today, in Kent, finally saw my first swallows.
